About the Department

Department of Chemistry was started in 1992. The department is the largest department in science faculty in the college. In its history of 25 years, it has grown considerably. In 2008, the Post Graduate course in M.Sc. (Organic Chemistry) was started with intake of 24 seats and obtained permanent affiliation to SPP University, Pune. Later in 2012 M.Sc. (Analytical Chemistry) was also started with intake of 24 seats. Many of the students successfully cracked competitive examinations like SET, CSIR-NET, GATE, etc. Chemistry staff and students are actively engaged in research like carrying out Minor Research Projects of the UGC and BCUD SPP University, Pune. Mr. Balasaheb Shinde is Head of the Department.
