Department of Geography

 About the Department

The department was started in 1990 at UG level and in 2019 at PG level. Dr. Rajesh Wagh is Head of Department. The faculty members teach different topics with the help of LCD Projector, Laptops, Internet and videos as per requirement. The department has a well equipped practical laboratory. B.Sc. students also offer Geography as optional subject.

   Highlights of the Departments

  1. The department regularly organizes excursion to understand realistic Geographical features
  2. The department regularly supports the students in research activities, like AVISHAKAR Regional Competition, etc.
  3. The department collects the socio-economical and cultural information from surrounding villages through village survey.
  4. The department arranges seminars and lecture series of different subjects for students.
  5. Department has Global Mapper Software and GPS Instrument these help in surveying and map making activities.
  6. Automatic weather station is placed on the college building, which, is helpful to understand the weather parameters and daily weather conditions, these are informed to farmers nearby areas
